This client reached out to us after discovering our work on YouTube. They had recently moved into their new home and invested in a variety of smart devices, all of which they hoped to integrate through Home Assistant. After facing challenges with the setup, they turned to Luxeia for expert guidance.

Following a detailed email consultation, we arranged an on-site visit to bring their vision to life. The client provided a list of tasks, and we dedicated an entire day to ensuring every aspect of their smart home functioned flawlessly.

We started by setting up Home Assistant, importing our optimised assets to create an intuitive, user-friendly dashboard. Essential automations, such as battery monitoring and system alerts, were configured to enhance reliability. We also reserved IP addresses for critical components, preventing potential network conflicts and ensuring long-term stability.

Lighting was a key focus, with Candeo dimmers seamlessly integrated into Zigbee2MQTT and displayed on the dashboard. Next, we tackled security, integrating Ubiquiti cameras via the native Unifi Protect integration on Home Assistant. These were made accessible on both mobile devices and wall-mounted tablets throughout the home, each displaying a custom dashboard tailored for optimal viewing.

Beyond security and lighting, we incorporated their Fox ESS solar setup using HACS, providing real-time insights into solar usage and battery performance. Climate control was another crucial aspect. Heatmiser Neo was integrated via HomeKit, while Mitsubishi MELCloud enabled precise AC control. With these additions, the client gained complete, centralised control over their home’s comfort settings.

By the end of the project, every device, from lighting and security to energy monitoring and climate control, worked in perfect harmony within Home Assistant. With our thoughtfully designed dashboard, the client now enjoys effortless control and automation, making their smart home experience both powerful and intuitive.
