The Full Process
Expertly guiding you through your smart home journey
If you want a practical smart home that offers enhanced security and provides you with a variety of savings you need to follow the correct process.
Consultation
The consultation phase is completely free of charge, and is something you should take advantage of, as this is where you can bombard us with questions and get a good understanding of how your smart home is going to work for you.
We prefer to have the consultation meeting on-site, as it allows us to get a better understanding of what you're trying to achieve, and can influence our response to your questions and planning ideas.
The initial quote will be sent to you after this meeting has taken place to give you a better understanding of the overall project cost.
Design
If you decide to go ahead with the project a product deposit will be required before we can begin any work. After this deposit has been made we will start on the design phase of your smart home, which will require the ground plans of your home.
The devices will then be positioned onto your ground plans for you to check over, making sure we haven't missed or misplaced any devices. Wiring diagrams, rack schematics and cable schedules will then be put together so our installation team can carry out the work as accurately as possible.
An in-depth user manual is also included in the design phase, which will be put together as the project unfolds. The user manual will document all of the necessary information for you to operate and troubleshoot your smart home.
Installation
The installation will take place once the design work has been completed and approved by both you and the project manager. You will receive a schedule of work that details exactly what is going to happen each day.
Any preparations that are possible to be done off-site will be made to ensure we spend less time at your property, minimising the disruption to your personal schedule.
Configuration
Configuring your smart home is the part that takes time, but the majority of this work can be carried out off-site back at our office. Most of the configuration will actually take place during the design phase, and testing will be carried out alongside the installation.
Every smart home we do has it's own custom built mobile application, which is included for free. This application is created during the design phase and is built to give you effortless control over your entire smart home.
Handover
Once your smart home is configured and functioning to your specifications we will carry out an in-depth handover. The handover will cover all of the different features throughout the home, as we take you through room by room to explain how the devices are configured. The handover will also get you familiar with the mobile application so you can control your home from anywhere in the world with ease.
A brief training session will also take place during the handover period if you choose to have it. This training will demonstrate how you can create your own automations, and will give you the ability to edit the configuration of particular devices, such as light switches. This gives you complete control over your smart home, and allows you to make alteration without the need to pay for an engineer. That being said, we are always available to help you if required, both remotely and in person.
Aftercare
Your project manager will have a follow-up visit with you 30 days after the project is completed. This follow-up is completely free of charge and gives you the opportunity to change the configuration of your smart home to better suit your lifestyle.
Maintaining a smart home is absolutely essential to ensure it runs smoothly without issues, and will be discussed with you at the very beginning during the consultation phase. We offer a range of support plans for you to choose from which you can view over on our support page.
Project Management
Our highly skilled project managers will take care of everything for you
All of our smart home projects are assigned to one of our project managers, who will act as your primary contact throughout the project. The project manager will keep you updated on the timescale and inform you of any issues we may encounter. If you ever have any questions or concerns the project manager will always be available to help you, and will be on-site as the work is being carried out.
